The Kitui County Assembly runs its own calendar in accordance with the powers of county assemblies exemplified in the County Governments Act 2012.

The Kitui County Assembly prepares a calendar for it sessions at the beginning of each assembly session in accordance with the Interim County Assembly Standing Order No. 25.

This is determined by the County Assembly Business Committee with approval of the County Assembly.

On a day when the County Assembly is scheduled to adjourn to a day other than the next normal sitting in accordance with the County Assembly Calender, the Leader of the Majority Party or the Leader of the Minority Party or another member of the County Assembly Business Committee moves a Motion of adjournment to be debated for not more than three hours after which the Kitui County Assembly adjourns without question put.

The County Assembly may, despite the published calender, by resolution, alter its Calender or the adjournment date.

The detailed County Assembly Calendar (regular sessions of the Assembly) of the 2nd County Assembly (Third Session) as from February 2019 to December 2019 as approved by the County Assembly is available here.
